Some Ghanaians have taken to social media to express their views on the recent arrest of artist manager, Bulldog.

It would be recalled that while making a submission on UTV’s United Showbiz, Bulldog noted that suggestions that customers invested at their own peril hence, cannot hold the government responsible for the inconvenience caused them was unacceptable.

He went on to say “We’ll get our monies back else Nana Addo will run; he won’t finish his 4 years. I’m telling you. He won’t finish his 4 years.”The comment has however been widely spread on social media with many indicating Bulldog threatened the President of Ghana.

However making another appearance on the ‘Best Entertainment Show’ on Okay FM Monday morning, Bulldog said his comment has been taken out of context. He was later arrested by the security services for his comments.

Ghanaians have since then expressed their views on whether Bulldog should be freed or punished. Some Ghanaians, mostly supporters of the National Democratic Congress, believe that the arrest of the artist manager was politically motivated.

Commenting on his arrest, the Deputy National Youth Organizer of the NDC, Edem Agbana says that, “It is completely naive to assume the arrest of BullDog has anything to do with enforcing Law & Order, it clearly has everything to do with using state power to silence critics. If it is about the Law, why is Kennedy Agyapong not in custody? Shame on Akufo-Addo #FreeBullDogNow.”

Many others also believe that he must be punished for threatening Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
