424 New Lawyers called to the Bar

424 new lawyers have been inducted into the legal profession in Ghana on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

The Chief Justice, Justice Kwesi Anim Yeboah has inducted the newly qualified lawyers. He charged them to keep and reflect the noble respect accorded the legal profession.

Also, the Chief justice explained that it was necessary for lawyers to take the ethics of the profession seriously

“The use of intemperate, offensive and abusive language in professional dealings must be fiercely resisted at all times by all lawyers, no matter the height of temptation. Lawyers should refrain from the use of offensive language or behaviour before the courts,” the Chief Justice said.

Other prominent personalities present at the ceremony are Ms Gloria Akuffo, the Attorney General, President of the Ghana Bar association, Mr Anthony Forson. Some justices of the supreme court including Justice Jones Dotse, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie and Yaw Appau were also present.

The overall best student award went to Mr Emmanuel Gyan Yeboah.
