The president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has warned Ghanaians that if Covid-19 cases continue to increase continually, the government will be forced to bring a lockdown to curb the situation.

According to the president, the idea of a lockdown from the government has negative impacts on the nation’s economy but then there won’t be other options left than to lockdown if the spread increases.

“We do not want to go back to the days of partial lockdowns which had a negative impact on our economy and way of life. But should that become necessary, and should the number of active cases continue to increase at the current rate, I will have no option than to reimpose these restrictions because it is better to be safe than to be sorry. So together, let us all ensure that we respect the protocols”, Nana Addo said in his 22nd update on government’s advanced responsive measures against the out break.
