Former Deputy Information Minister, Felix Ofosu Kwakye has said President Akufo-Addo’s directive to former Auditor-General, Daniel Domelovo to proceed on retirement makes him Ghana’s worst leader in the fight against corruption.

Mr Akufo-Addo’s action follows an indication by the Audit Service Board that Mr Domelovo has overstayed in the workforce as his retirement caught up in June last year.

But Mr Ofosu Kwakye says the move is the “final nail in the coffin in the fight against corruption.”

“Akufo-Addo will go down as perhaps the worse leader we’ve had in the fight against corruption because of the move against Mr Domelove.”

Mr Kwakye wants Ghanaians and civil society organizations to ensure public officials like Daniel Domelovo are protected.

“I don’t think that a soothsayer to tell you that because of the scrap record of this government, we were bound to find a lot of discrepancies, a lot of malpractices, and malfeasance.
