The ongoing election petition at the Supreme Court filed by the leader of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) John Mahama on 2020 election results.
John Mahama says last year’s election results was and so the Supreme Court should allow the electoral commission to conduct a run-off because he believes none of the candidates had a 50percent and even above, Nana Addo as he claim cannot be declared as the winner of the 2020 elections.
Per proceedings the last time, the court went on decision making as to whether the EC chairperson “Jean Mensah” should enter the witness box for cross-examinations, Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata the leading counsel member for the petitioner ordered that she mounts the witness box to be interrogated.
Lawyers from both 1st and 2nd respondents went in a big time head lock when the court finally ruled that she will not be cross-examined against her will.
After the heart breaking ruling from the Supreme Court, Tsatsu further asked that the court allows for a re-opening of their case. Today in the Supreme Court, heed has been paid to Tsatsu’s plea and So the petitioner re-opens their petition today February 15, 2021.
