‘Drive Through Services’ provides an expedient service as travelers especially are not delayed in any way.

This is because results are sent via emails, Whatsapp, amongst others while the traveler journeys on.

Lab Technician at the 24/7 Doctor Online, Sandra Asor Ohemeng, tells Joy Business she is hopeful  Ghanaians will gradually get accustom to ‘Drive Through Services’.

“You know in Ghana, when you establish something, it takes a while for people to actually get people’s attention but it’s been three days since we started and so far it’s been amazing.”

In an interview with Joy Business’ Odelia Ntiamoah, Chief Operating Officer of 24/7 Doctor Online, Evie Osei, said the ‘Drive Through Services’ is effective coupled with its 24-hour doctor services seven days a week.

“We realised that hospitals accredited by the government are few; just about four and as a digital healthcare service we trying to create convenience for people and also to reduce the spread,” she said.

She added that the services though lucrative, was to create convenience for people.

“Again when people are also going out of the country, it becomes problematic for them to have the test done because they keep asking the question; where can I go, I have to join the queue at the hospital before and sometimes it take 24 or12 hours to go.”

According to her, there is also a “high demand in services for people who are scared to come out.”

She is optimistic that patronage on the ‘Drive Through Services’s will go high once people get to know about it and “the fact that we give them certification for their results” which one can travel with it as it is certified.

PTR test, she explained “is quite expensive because of the machine that is used to do the test”

As the country battles the coronavirus, it is hopeful of acquiring some 17 million vaccines by March this year.

Meanwhile, the COO observed that the arrival of the vaccines will boost business “because you have to know your status before you try to vaccinate yourself.”

“We are hoping that everything goes on well so that we can also bring the vaccines in and then we test people.”

Madam Osei further stated that, once a person test positive, a counselling session is arranged and then “you will feel better at the end of the two weeks’ session.”

The Drive Thru services currently runs in Accra but will soon be expanded across the country

“For Accra we doing three; Airport Shell, East Lagon and Spintex, we are going to go to Kumasi, Takoradi, and a part of Northern region.”
