Just In: Check Full List Of Mps And Ministers To Be Vetted

Reliable information gathered by Ghananewspress, reveals that Parliament has fully composed its appointments committee.

The appointments committee, which has the mandate to vet ministers and other appointees of the President, comprises of Members of Parliament from both sides of the house.

The Appointments Committee has in the past, had more of its members belonging the majority party in parliament.
But as was reflected in the parliamentary elections, the list for the current appointments committee of the 8th Parliament has 13 members from both sides of the house.

The committee as by the standing orders of the house, is chaired by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon Joseph Osei Owusu with Hon Afenyo Markins, Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, serving as his Vice.
Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Hon Haruna Iddrisu also serves on the committee as Ranking Member while Hon Muntaka Mubarak serves as the Deputy Ranking Member.

Other members representing the NPP caucus in parliament includes John Ntim Fudjour, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Patrick Yaw Boamah, Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Henry Quartey, Bryan Acheampong, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Patricia Appiagyei, Osei Bonsu Amoah, Alhassan Tampoli Sulemana and the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Kumah.
Also, the NDC caucus in parliament is represented by Mahama Ayariga, Sampson Ahi, Eric Opoku, Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, James Agalga, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Alhassan Suhuyini, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Francis Xavier Sosu, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahim and the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui.
Some Members of Parliament from the NDC caucus have already served notice, that ministerial nominees must adequately prepare for the vetting process as they wouldn’t take it easy like in the past.
