The New Juaben South Municipality in the Eastern Region records new corona virus cases of about seventy one (71) which is giving wave to the cases in the municipality to rise to 484 with 18 deaths recorded.
Dr. Edmund Ekow Kaitoo, who is the Municipal Health Director in an interview with Daily Graphic says that due to non existence of Isolation centers in the Municipality, all patients are quarantined in their homes and undergoing treatment.

He added that Members of the Municipal Covid-19 Emergency Response Team of the Ghana Health Service, pay the patients regular visits to ensure that they are well taken care of at home. He also mentioned that these cases covered the first 26 days of January 2021 and Contact tracing is in progress for victims who might have had close contacts with these persons.

80 percent of the residents in the municipality do not adhere to the safety protocols and so if Mass testing is to be conducted, more cases will be recorded as well.
He concluded by entreating the general public to obey the covid-19 safety protocols and that is the only surest way of being more safe from the deadly virus. Adding that, despite the virus is sweeping off lives across the world but himswlf and his team have their hands on deck to combat their side of the fight against covid-19.
