A radio presenter, Oheneba Boamah with Accra-based radio station, Power FM has been arrested by the Police.
This was made known through a press statement issued by the Ghana Police Service and sighted by ghnewspress.com. It stated,
“The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has on Monday, 14th December 2020 arrested suspect Oheneba Boamah, a radio presenter with Power FM in Accra)”
According to the Police, “the suspect is being held for allegedly insulting and threatening the President of Ghana. He allegedly threatened H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo in a video which is shared on his Facebook page.”

The statement further explained that the suspects held for Offensive conduct, conducive to breaches of the Peace. Also, for Publication of false news, contrary to sections 207 and 208 (1) respectively, of the Criminal and other Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).
He has since been detained in police custody, pending further action.
