The Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency, Mr A. B. A. Fuseini has chastised the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He accused them of using monies belonging to the state to buy votes in the just ended general elections.
According to the lawmaker, the NPP used the state money and other state resources as if they were for the party.

He made these know while speaking to the media after he was declared the winner of the elections in the Sagnarigu Constituency.

Mr Fuseini described the act of vote buying as compromising the integrity of the electorates.

“But for the shameful intrusion of money and other state resources which they were distributing as if they were the resources of the NPP, they would not have gotten the votes they got from the Sagnarigu Constituency and that is a sorry state in our democratic process,” the MP stated.

NPP GOV’T NEGLECTS THE CONSTITUENCY

In addition, the MP alleged that the NPP government had not executed a single developmental project in the Constituency.
“When people elect you into office, they expect you to execute projects that will improve their situation. The people need water, roads, electricity and other projects, which this government has failed to do. Then you wait when it is left with some few weeks to election, you then come around. As a result, be distributing money, rice, and other things to get their votes. What kind of shameful act is this?,” he questioned.

He said, even in opposition he was able to use meagre resources at his disposal to undertake several projects for his constituents.

He entreated all Ghanaian politicians to use monies that were meant for developmental projects for that purpose. Also, he advised them to avoid keeping the money to be distributed to voters in election years to woo their votes.
