Guan chiefs petition EC over exclusion in Parliamentary elections

The Akpafu and Lolobi Traditional Areas have in a letter dated December 16, 2020 petitioned the Electoral Commission (EC).

Th is over the exclusion of Guan from the Parliamentary polls in the just ended 2020 general elections.

Also, the two Traditional Areas are seeking for clarity on the voting status of the people of Akpafu and Lolobi.

Among other questions, the Traditional leaders are requesting for answers to the following:

“Under which Constituency were the Presidential election votes of Lolobi and Akpafu collated?”

“Which article or law in in the 1992 constitution of Ghana empowers the EC or any other institutions of state to disenfranchise or prevent registered voters from participation in an election?”
